Fun to use super FAST desktop

ANIMUX provides an easy and fun-to-use windowed environment, allowing use of the graphics hardware to render each individual window and the entire screen, to provide some impressive effects, speed and usefulness. This fun-to-use windowed environment is built on top of XFCE desktop environment which is designed for productivity. It loads and executes applications fast, while conserving system resources. This way the animator can most of his system resources on the task at hand rather than just making the system usable.

Animux provides a super fast desktop environment with XFCE.

animux screenshotXfce is a lightweight desktop environment for unix-like operating systems. It aims to be fast and light on system resources, while still being visually appealing and easy to use. Xfce 4 embodies the traditional UNIX philosophy of modularity and re-usability. IAdhereance to standards is one of the main design goals of Xfce 4, specifically those defined at Freedesktop.org. This allows Xfce 4 to seamlessly interoperate with programs written for other desktop environments that follow these specifications. It is common knowledge that XFCE is lightest (on system resources) when compared to GNOME or KDE. It gives your performance without sacrifizing on functionality.

All the above features made is an appealing desktop environment to us at Animux. Gaining for “INFRASTRUCTURE EFFICIENCIES” is one of the 3 core deliverables ANIMUX set out to do. These gains should start at the animators desktop. Making the animators desktop work as efficiently by using as little of the hardware resources to run XFCE. This gives most of the system resources for the modeling, rendering and the various other day to day job of animator.

Fun and ease of use with Compiz-Fusion

compiz-fusion-thumb.pngCompiz-Fusion is the result of a merge between the well-known Beryl composite window manager and Compiz Extras, a community set of improvements to the Compiz composite window manager. Compiz Fusion aims to provide an easy and fun-to-use windowed environment, allowing use of the graphics hardware to render each individual window and the entire screen, to provide some impressive effects, speed and usefulness.

Hardware-accelerated window management and desktop compositing through OpenGL using rendering paths like AIGLX, Xgl and direct rendering solutions, Powerful and flexible plugin interface, allowing almost limitless extension possibilities, easy to use GUI configuration management system made us notice it and include it to ANIMUX.

Access Your application with a mac-like Dock

compiz-fusion-thumb.pngKiba Dock is a dock, in other words a way to access programs and windows in an interactive manner. One of the most common example today Mac OS X dock. Kiba Dock is specifically designed for Linux operating systems. With Stacks plugins included the Kiba-Dock, you can now have at your finger tips a mouseclick away the files and applications that you are actively working on. No more searching for them in a convoluted folder structure.
